Homework assignment from the character creation workshop at The South Gate Society:
A young man, on the stage behind an electrical piano. His hair is curly, frizzy and almost red. His eyes closed. On his cheeks, old scars from acne. A woman with blond hair and lipstick is playing drums, and back up singing. Between them on a chair another man playing a guitar. They seem to be following the piano man. It seems that they are there just for him, and when I look around, it seems that everyone is there, just for him. He is on the left side of the stage, but it seems the center of the room. Once he takes a break, from playing, he barely makes it off the stage, before he is talking and hugging, what seems like ten people at the same time. He is present, but on his way out. He is trying to charm everyone and head out to take a break at the same time. The bit of peace that had accompanied him on stage, has vanished. Instead he is telling every individual around him, how happy he is, that exactly he or she is there. And suddenly he is gone.
